Astute Dawn of Time readers may have noticed that the inventor of the time machine is, evidently, H.G. Wells. I was looking the guy up and it seems that, in addition to all his writings and outspoken political views, he also invented the first "recreational wargame" (the genre that Dungeons & Dragons would later emerge from), and his tombstone reads: "I told you so. You damned fools." Seems like a pretty cool guy.
